It is incredibly easy to use, and the best part is knowing exactly what goes into your nut milk—no additives, no preservatives, just pure, fresh ingredients. I really enjoy the variety it allows, as I have already made almond (with skins removed), almond-cashew, cashew, hemp seed, and soy milk, each with its own unique taste and texture. While I haven’t needed to use the included nut milk bag, I do think straining almond milk would make it smoother, since it tends to have more pulp than I prefer. One of the features I like is that the milk heats up during processing, so it comes out warm and ready to pour over porridge or cereal. Of course, if you’re making a smoothie, the heat might be a drawback, but in terms of timing, it takes about as long as cooking steel-cut oats, so it works out perfectly. For soy milk, the machine runs a longer cycle and actually cooks the soybeans as it makes the milk, which is very convenient. I haven’t yet tried chickpeas, but I am looking forward to experimenting with them in the future. Cleanup is another highlight—it couldn’t be easier. Just add water and a drop of dish soap, set it to the clean cycle, and it practically washes itself. With hemp seeds, I noticed a little residue left at the bottom, but the included brush makes it simple to scrub away in seconds. The controls are straightforward, although I’ve scrolled past my desired setting a couple of times, but it’s no problem to just keep going until it comes around again. The only real drawback is the noise level, which is similar to a high-powered blender like a VitaMix, but honestly, that doesn’t bother me since I can start the cycle and step into another room until it’s done.
